“Into the Depth”
70*30
acryl, modeling paste, fineliner
This painting depicts a young woman entering a coniferous forest. It is not just a landscape, but a reflection of the soul, a memory, and a revelation.
I grew up amidst endless spruce forests, and their sight is forever imprinted in my memory. Now that I live in Germany, surrounded by fields, I often recall the vastness of my homeland. I miss the scent of spruce, the sound of the wind in the treetops, the feeling of unity with the great living organism - the forest.
The young woman in the painting is my alter ego. She enters the forest as if returning to her roots, to her true essence. As much as I love to travel, the voice inside me periodically warmly reminds me of the places of my childhood and youth.
To capture the atmosphere, I use acrylics for the landscape and modeling paste to create the 3D effect of snowdrifts. I draw the contours of the girl with a liner - a reference to my modern graphic works and comics. The modeling paste imitates the texture of sticky snow, in which you almost drown on a good winter day and from which it is so pleasant to sculpt snowmen.
"Вглубь" (Into the Depths) is my declaration of love for the nature of my homeland. It is a reminder that, despite the distance, my soul will always yearn a little for its roots.
