Journeys Through Paint and Lens
All of us, in one way or another, are on a journey.
Sometimes we set out because of an inner calling, other times out of necessity. Our reasons vary from seeking ourselves, discovering new places, experiencing the world through fresh perspectives, or just taking time out of our busy lives. Each journey shapes how we see and how we interpret the world, filtered through our unique perceptions.
This exhibition brings together two such expressions—personal interpretations of the road taken, and the moments discovered along the way. Every sketch, every photograph is both a record and a lesson: opportunities to see, to reflect, and to grow.
Veronika captures her travels in watercolour sketches, distilling the colours, textures, and impressions of the places she encounters.
Joel captures his journey through the lens of a camera. His photographs, presented in black and white, strip away distraction—because life is already full of colour. For him, monochrome is a way to search for simplicity, to look beyond the noise, and to see life’s essence more clearly.
Our paths crossed in Zagreb, Croatia, towards the end of July 2025, on an ordinary evening in the shared kitchen of a guesthouse. What began as a chance meeting grew into long conversations about travel, creativity, and the ways we see the world. This exhibition is the result of that crossing—an attempt to share our light, our stories, and the ways in which our journeys intertwine.
And now, we invite you into this dialogue.
As you move through these works, we encourage you to reflect on your own journeys and to let the images and sketches stir your own interpretations. Share your thoughts with us, meet us, and bring your perspective into the conversation. For it is in exchange—between artist and viewer—that meaning deepens, and the journey continues.
Happy Travels
