However, this is not just a happy story. It is a meditation on the "caustic" aftermath of joy. The narrative acknowledges that every peak is followed by an end, returning the traveler to a state of indifference and a renewed, callused search for meaning. It is an invitation to remember your own peaks of calmness and to sit with the sweet sadness that follows when they inevitably slip away.
